ChainCatcher news, according to CryptoSlate, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has appointed Katherine Reilly as the acting Inspector General, succeeding the retired Deborah Jeffrey. Reilly previously served as the Deputy Inspector General and Counsel for the SEC's Office of Inspector General.

Reports indicate that Reilly's focus will be on resource allocation and internal vulnerability assessments, rather than the qualitative aspects of asset classes or future developments. She emphasized the importance of balancing the monitoring of fraudulent activities with the regulation of approved products such as Bitcoin and Ethereum ETPs.
