Bitget celebrates the 15th anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day by delivering 5,000 pizzas worldwide
ChainCatcher news, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day, Bitget will hold a series of pizza festival events in over 20 cities across five continents from May 19 to 22, covering cities such as Lisbon, Barcelona, Florence, and Dubai, with a total of 5,000 pizzas distributed.
The pizza festival originated on May 22, 2010, when Laszlo Hanyecz purchased 2 pizzas for 10,000 bitcoins, creating the first real-world transaction in cryptocurrency history.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated: "Bitcoin Pizza Day is not only an important milestone for the industry but also symbolizes the continuation of crypto faith. A transaction that was worth only $41 back then is now worth over $1 billion. We hope to create a more authentic and warmer communication scene for global users through the pizza festival series, witnessing the development and consensus of the industry together."
