ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Czech Justice Minister Pavel Blazek has announced his resignation on May 30 due to controversy over his department's sale of Bitcoin donated by a convicted criminal.

The Ministry of Justice previously announced on social media platform X that it had raised approximately 1 billion Czech koruna (about 45 million USD) by auctioning nearly 500 BTC. Subsequently, Czech news media Denik N discovered that these BTC came from Tomas Jirikovsky, the operator of the convicted dark web platform Sheep Marketplace.

In March of this year, Jirikovsky's lawyer proposed donating one-third of the BTC to Blazek, but Blazek accepted the donation without fully investigating the source of the funds. The police are currently investigating the source of this BTC.
