According to ChainCatcher news, the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb announced that due to the recent increase in phishing attacks, it plans to redeploy the virtual asset withdrawal delay system on June 17, 2025. The first virtual asset withdrawal after a Korean won deposit will be delayed by 72 hours, and subsequent withdrawals of equivalent virtual assets for Korean won recharges will be delayed by 24 hours.
An example of the 24-hour withdrawal delay system is as follows: If there is an existing 1 million Korean won, and then an additional 2 million Korean won is deposited, totaling 3 million Korean won, only 1 million won worth of virtual assets can be withdrawn every 24 hours; if 2 million Korean won is deposited without any prior Korean won balance, the withdrawal of virtual assets will be restricted for 24 hours, and after 24 hours, the equivalent of 2 million Korean won can be withdrawn.
