The number of active addresses on OpenSea in May reached a new high since mid-2023
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, the number of active addresses on the NFT trading platform OpenSea reached 467,322 last month, setting a new high since mid-2023. Data shows that there have been 236,091 active users from the beginning of June to now, which may reach or exceed the levels of May.
Despite the rebound in user numbers, OpenSea's monthly trading volume remains far below peak levels, with May's trading volume at $81 million, while it peaked at over $5 billion in January 2022.
The user growth may be attributed to OS2 officially exiting the testing phase and launching fully in May. OS2 supports token and NFT trading across 19 blockchains, including fungible tokens supporting Solana, and has introduced a rewards system called "Voyages," where users can earn experience points through on-chain activities.
Users generally expect that platform participation will be a consideration for future SEA token airdrops, but OpenSea has not yet announced a specific issuance date.
