The previous weekend, protests against the search of immigrants took place in Los Angeles. Video from the scene showed a large crowd holding signs and waving Mexican and American flags. Police cars lined the streets, and officers pinned some protesters to the ground. A tense standoff occurred between protesters and police in riot gear, with officers holding shields. Several demonstrators wearing headscarves and masks shouted obscenities.
