India's CBI cracks down on a transnational cybercrime case, seizing $327,000 worth of cryptocurrency
ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) of India recently arrested a man named Rahul Arora in Delhi and seized cryptocurrency worth $327,000 (approximately 28 million rupees) and $26,400 (approximately 220,000 rupees) in cash, successfully cracking a transnational cybercrime case targeting victims in the United States and Canada.
Investigators discovered tools for the crime during raids at three locations, including international calling devices, caller ID spoofing software, social engineering tools, and voice recording equipment. This operation is part of the CBI's "Chakra-V" multi-agency collaboration program, which partners with organizations such as Interpol and the FBI, focusing on combating cross-border cybercrime.
