Analysis: Trump's support for cryptocurrency becomes a key factor for his 2024 presidency

2025-06-16 08:10:35

ChainCatcher news, Trump campaign co-manager Chris Lasavita stated at the Coinbase crypto summit that Trump's support for cryptocurrency has become a key factor for his successful re-election in 2024.

Lasavita pointed out that the cryptocurrency issue has helped the Republican Party attract traditionally Democratic-leaning voter groups, including African Americans, Asian Americans, and young voters. Data shows that 28% of Asian Americans and about 20% of African Americans own cryptocurrency, significantly higher than the 14% of whites. The Trump administration has incorporated crypto-friendly policies into the Republican platform, promising to protect Bitcoin miners and ban central bank digital currencies. Meanwhile, a political action committee supported by Coinbase and Ripple Labs has invested over $200 million in the 2024 elections, boosting the influence of crypto assets in American politics.
