Cryptocurrency exchange Bitvavo obtains Dutch MiCA license
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the cryptocurrency exchange Bitvavo has recently obtained the license for the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) issued by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), allowing it to operate in 30 countries within the European Economic Area.
Since the regulatory framework officially came into effect last December, many cryptocurrency companies have applied for this license. MiCA was implemented in 2023 and covers the regulatory rules for crypto assets in the 27 EU countries as well as Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.
