ChainCatcher news, Coinbase executive Conor Grogan stated on social media that the "14-year dormant Bitcoin ancient whale transferring $8 billion BTC" yesterday may involve the possibility of private keys being stolen or leaked.

Conor discovered that one hour before the large-scale transfer of BTC assets from the whale wallet, one of the wallets conducted a test transaction of Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and immediately transferred out all BCH. Conor believes this behavior pattern is unusual, as other BCH wallets were not utilized, and BCH is generally less monitored by whale tracking services. This could be a discreet way to test the private keys, and he speculated that these wallets are unlikely to be exchange wallets.

Conor stated that while this is just speculation, if true, it could be the largest digital asset theft in human history.
