Metaplanet CEO leads multiple acquisitions of the Korean listed company SGA, promoting the strategic layout of Bitcoin finance in Asia
ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, the South Korean Financial Services Commission and exchanges have approved the acquisition of a controlling stake in the South Korean listed company SGA Co. by a consortium related to Sora Ventures, KCGI, and Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich. The plan is to issue approximately 58.86 million common shares, raising a total of about 34.49 billion won (approximately 25 million USD).
This move signifies that the consortium is promoting a Bitcoin financial strategy through Asian listed companies. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich is participating in this capacity as an individual, and the Asia Strategy Partners LLC he supports will become the largest shareholder of SGA Co. Previously, the group also engaged in similar arrangements in Thailand, continuously expanding the path for Bitcoin adoption in the Asian market.
