ChainCatcher reports that, according to The Block, the gas limit for Ethereum blockchain blocks has been raised to 45 million units, a 25% increase from 36 million in February of this year, with about half of the validators supporting the adjustment, which took effect at block number 22,968,004.

The change aims to enhance transaction throughput and network scalability and is part of Ethereum's scaling roadmap. Future goals include achieving gas limits of 60 million to 150 million units, while ensuring network security and stability through proposals such as EIP-7935 and EIP-7983.
