ChainCatcher news, according to The Miner Mag, the American Bitcoin mining company CleanSpark disclosed in its Q2 2025 financial report that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has accused the company of importing certain Bitcoin mining machines from China between April and June 2024, which requires the payment of back duties.

If the CBP's accusations are upheld, CleanSpark expects to face customs duties of up to $185 million (excluding statutory interest). CleanSpark stated that it will strongly contest the claims, asserting that its import documents and hardware suppliers can confirm that the equipment is not made in China.
