Starknet v0.14.0 upgrade proposal approved by the community, will go live on the mainnet on September 1
ChainCatcher news, according to official sources, the Starknet community has officially passed the v0.14.0 version upgrade proposal, which is scheduled to be deployed to the mainnet on September 1, 2025. This upgrade is seen as an important milestone for Starknet to achieve full decentralization.
The v0.14.0 version will introduce several key features: including a multi-sequencer architecture and Tendermint consensus mechanism, a sub-second transaction "pre-confirmation" feature to enhance user experience, and an improved fee market based on EIP-1559.
The new version supports multiple sequencers taking turns to produce blocks and run the consensus protocol, while significantly improving transaction processing efficiency through the "pre-confirmation" mechanism. In terms of the fee market, it will optimize the network resource pricing mechanism, setting the minimum transaction fee at 3 gFRI. According to official sources, this network upgrade is expected to require approximately 15 minutes of maintenance window.
