Bitcoin Asia 2025 will land in Hong Kong next week, becoming the largest Bitcoin conference in Asia

Hong Kong, August 22, 2025 ------ The highly anticipated Bitcoin Asia 2025 will be held in Hong Kong from August 28 to 29. It is expected to attract 15,000 attendees, making it the second largest Bitcoin event in the world, and further enhancing Hong Kong and Asia's position on the global digital economy stage.

Bitcoin is gradually moving into the mainstream, with rapid adoption among both retail investors and enterprise applications. By 2023, the Asia-Pacific region accounted for 43% of global cryptocurrency holdings, with Southeast Asia experiencing rapid growth. Indonesia's digital currency trading volume reached $30 billion last year, while markets in Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines also showed strong momentum.

Active participation from the retail sector has also driven significant institutional interest in Bitcoin. From Japan and South Korea to Hong Kong and Singapore, the capital markets' layout for digital assets continues to accelerate. According to statistics, the revenue from crypto asset management in the Asia-Pacific region has reached $300.4 million ++, and is expected to grow to $1.46 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 25.4%. In Hong Kong, an increasing number of companies listed or registered there hold Bitcoin inventories, demonstrating the sustained popularity of BTC. The active engagement of both retail and institutional players is also driving the accelerated establishment of regulatory frameworks in the region, with most markets developing clearer regulations for exchanges and custodians to enhance investor confidence.

Hong Kong is at the heart of this wave. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) position Hong Kong as a nurturing ground for digital assets and Web3, implementing policies through pilot programs. In April 2024, Hong Kong became one of the first jurisdictions in Asia to approve Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs, a milestone that attracted substantial institutional funds and laid the groundwork for broader applications. The "Stablecoin Regulation" passed in May this year marks another significant step for Hong Kong towards becoming an international virtual asset hub.
