Yao Cai Securities responds to rumors that Ant Group may acquire equity to apply for a virtual asset trading platform license: subject to the announcement

ChainCatcher news, according to East Network reports, on August 27, 2025, regarding the plan of Hong Kong-listed brokerage Yau Choy Securities' chairman Ye Maolin to sell the entire 50.55% stake to Ant Group, the company's CEO Xu Yibin stated that the transaction is progressing as planned and will disclose updates monthly as required. There are various rumors in the market, but it emphasizes that everything is subject to the announcement.

In response to market speculation that Ant's acquisition of Yau Choy is for applying for a virtual asset trading platform license, Xu Yibin added that the company currently only has a relationship of offeror and offeree with Ant and is closely monitoring market developments, and will conduct further research to consider whether to upgrade the existing license to a virtual asset license.
