The number of cryptocurrency-related voice scam cases in South Korea has surged by 6.6 times

ChainCatcher news, according to Coinness citing Asia Economy, voice fraud cases related to cryptocurrency in South Korea significantly increased from January to July 2025. According to data provided by the National Police Agency of Korea, People Power Party member Song Seok-jun stated that there were a total of 420 voice fraud cases targeting crypto assets in the first half of this year, an increase of 6.6 times compared to 64 cases during the same period last year. The total number of such fraud cases in 2024 was 130, and this figure has already been surpassed in the first seven months of 2025.
