Hassett: The Federal Reserve should not announce future interest rate paths in advance and should rely on data for adjustments
According to Jinshi reports, White House National Economic Council Director Hassett stated that it would be irresponsible for the Federal Reserve to announce its interest rate path for the next six months in advance, emphasizing that monetary policy should be flexibly adjusted based on economic data. He praised current Chairman Powell for effectively coordinating internal opinions within the FOMC before the meeting and indicated that Powell might agree with the view of continuing to lower interest rates.
