On-chain detective ZachXBT posted on social media that Ron (real name Ronald Spektor), who impersonated a Coinbase customer to steal $6.5 million in assets in November 2024, has been arrested in New York.

The incident occurred on October 7, when the victim received a call disguised as Coinbase customer service and was induced to visit a phishing website, resulting in the theft of funds. On-chain tracking shows that the stolen funds were sent to the eXch platform, where they were exchanged for LTC and dispersed to multiple service platforms.
