Hong Kong police: 15 people arrested in 1 billion yen virtual currency exchange robbery case
According to Hong Kong media Hong Kong 01, last week, two employees from Japanese companies engaged in virtual currency and luxury goods took a vehicle to a virtual currency exchange shop in Sheung Wan, planning to exchange 1 billion yen (approximately 50 million HKD) packed in 4 suitcases for virtual currency and HKD, but were robbed at knife point.
The Hong Kong police have disclosed that 15 people have been arrested so far, among which 7 have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery. They are currently tracing the whereabouts of the funds, and the investigation is still ongoing, with the possibility of more arrests.
