CoinWarz: The Bitcoin mining difficulty is expected to continue increasing to 149 T in January
The Bitcoin mining difficulty was increased by 0.04% to 148.26 T in the last adjustment of the year. According to CoinWarz, the next Bitcoin mining difficulty adjustment is expected to occur on January 8, 2026, at block height 931,392, at which point the network mining difficulty is anticipated to rise to 149 T.
In 2025, the BTC mining difficulty reached a new historical high, with two significant increases occurring in September during the Bitcoin price surge, followed by a substantial decline after the market crash.
