ByteDance announced that it has reached a final agreement to sell Moonton Technology to Savvy Games Group, a subsidiary of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), for a sale price of over $6 billion. Moonton Technology is the developer and publisher of the famous MOBA mobile game in Southeast Asia, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), which was acquired by ByteDance in 2021.

It is reported that ByteDance has made significant investments in AI, and the overall profit declined in the fourth quarter of 2025. The sale of Moonton is seen as a signal of ByteDance's strategic focus further shifting towards AI.
