Trump says the US and Iran are expected to hold face-to-face talks "soon."
According to a report by Jinshi citing CCTV News, on April 8 local time, U.S. President Trump stated that after a two-week ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran, face-to-face talks are expected to be "held soon" in Islamabad, Pakistan, to promote a long-term agreement.
Trump mentioned that the talks could take place as early as this week, and the U.S. delegation may include Middle East envoy David Schenker and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, among others. He also noted that Vice President Pence "may not attend," mainly for security reasons.
