The ambition of HTX DAO: more than just a hackathon
While most people still understand hackathons as "developer competitions," deeper changes have already begun to take place.
On April 21, the HTX Genesis hackathon, hosted by HTX DAO and B.AI, and co-initiated by TinTinLand and OpenCity, opened in Hong Kong. The opening event was bustling with energy, with increasing frequency of exchanges and interaction density. Participants from the developer community, investment institutions, project parties, trading platforms, and public chain ecosystems gathered to engage in systematic discussions around the technological evolution and commercial implementation of AI × Web3.
As an important entry point for global innovators in the HTX DAO ecosystem, the HTX Genesis hackathon broke away from the traditional single development orientation from the very beginning, instead constructing a complete closed loop of "development - incubation - investment - launch." The event focused on tracks such as AI and Web3 infrastructure, emphasizing demand-driven and sustainable growth logic, aiming to filter innovative projects with long-term value.
The Logic of Web3 Reconstruction Driven by AI: Ecological Capability Becomes the Core Competitive Variable
What sets the HTX Genesis hackathon apart is the content it attempts to express.
At the opening ceremony, Huobi HTX global advisor Sun Yuchen made a significant online appearance and shared his latest judgments on the future development direction of the industry, focusing on the integration trend of AI × Web3, providing a more macro perspective for the entire event.
Sun Yuchen analyzed that AI Agents will replace traditional interaction methods and become the core driving force of the next stage of the Web3 ecosystem.
He explained that past Web3 applications often came with extremely high learning thresholds and complex on-chain interactions, while the introduction of AI Agents will drive decentralized applications from "manual operation" to "intention-driven" based on natural language. This means that AI Agents can autonomously understand user needs, automatically plan paths, and complete complex on-chain settlements such as cross-chain transactions. This paradigm shift towards intelligence and autonomy will not only greatly unleash on-chain productivity but also become a new breakthrough point to overcome the user growth bottleneck in Web3, leading the industry towards true large-scale adoption.
HTX DAO ambassador Molly's speech shifted the focus from industry judgment back to the ecosystem itself.
Molly shared on the theme "HTX DAO Ecosystem Development Plan: Launch of a Multi-Million Ecosystem Fund and Value Closed Loop Strategy."
She pointed out that the core vision of the HTX Genesis hackathon is to build a free financial port based on the exchange's hinterland. Around this goal, five major ecological matrices covering the entire industry chain have been constructed, including:
Huobi HTX as the core business engine and liquidity center;
HTX DAO serving as the governance hub and centralized decision-making brain of the ecosystem;
Public chains and innovation layers providing payment network support through TRON, and building a solid DeFi infrastructure with JustLend, SunX, etc.;
HTX Ventures focusing on industry frontiers, providing investment, incubation, and acceleration services for outstanding projects;
B.AI aiming at future trends, dedicated to building financial infrastructure for the AI Agent era.
Molly also introduced that to implement ecosystem empowerment, this hackathon has launched an ecological development fund of up to 10 million USDT. This fund abandons traditional broad-based funding, adopting a "precise empowerment" strategy through a three-tier release mechanism of "early innovation milestone release (Tier 1), commercially convertible funding for growth (Tier 2), and additional funding for excellent ecosystems (Tier 3)," ensuring projects transition from cold start to commercial maturity throughout their lifecycle.
Molly specifically pointed out that regarding future development, Huobi HTX has clearly proposed four core strategic keywords: "stability, transparency, institutionalization, AI empowerment," aiming to enhance the platform's long-term competitiveness in a complex market environment and provide ecosystem participants with more certain growth expectations.
In the subsequent roundtable session, the discussion gradually converged on several more fundamental questions:
How is value created? How can capital flow more efficiently on-chain? And how can Web3 applications truly achieve large-scale adoption?
Many participants generally believe that a single technological breakthrough can no longer support a new growth cycle; only through the collaboration of multiple factors such as technology, capital, liquidity, and users can the Web3 ecosystem achieve a transition from structural innovation to systemic prosperity.
Comprehensive Resource Empowerment: Anchoring the Next Web3 Alpha
As the discussion deepened, the event blueprint of the HTX Genesis hackathon will also be fully unveiled.
The event cycle will last from April 2026 to July, expecting to attract about 100 hardcore development teams from around the world, culminating in a stage display and selection in Hong Kong.
In addition to prize incentives, selected projects will also receive multidimensional support from TRON, Huobi HTX, and B.AI, including computing resources, technical connections, ecological cooperation, and joint promotion.
In the era of accelerating integration of AI and Web3, the HTX Genesis hackathon is transforming from a single event platform into an "infrastructure node" that connects global developer innovation with top ecological resources. It is not only searching for the next Alpha but also providing the most solid structural support for the real growth of Web3 applications in the next stage.
