Core Scientific will acquire the Bitcoin mining company Polaris for $421 million, expanding the Oklahoma AI data center campus
According to The Block, Core Scientific has agreed to acquire Oklahoma-based Bitcoin mining company Polaris DS LLC for $421 million, with the transaction expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval.
This acquisition will add 440 megawatts of contracted power to Core Scientific, aimed at accelerating its expansion in artificial intelligence and high-density computing businesses. The 40-acre campus of Polaris in Muskogee is powered and operational, adjacent to Core Scientific's existing facilities. Core Scientific is transforming and expanding its original Bitcoin mining facilities into a colocation data center focused on artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
