According to a post on the DL News official website, DL News announced that it will officially close at the end of May 2026. The media was established in 2022 as the news department of the on-chain data platform DefiLlama, dedicated to providing independent and high-quality cryptocurrency news coverage. However, internal conflicts at DefiLlama in early 2023 led to a practical separation, causing DL News to lose traffic support from its parent platform; subsequently, the overall traffic for cryptocurrency and technology media significantly shrank, and the proliferation of AI further accelerated the collapse of search distribution channels.

Although its business research department DL Research achieved a 270% revenue growth and surpassed seven figures in annual sales in 2025, it was still insufficient to support overall operations. The team officially notified employees on May 1 that the company would close.
