SK Hynix responds to "an average bonus of 6.1 million RMB per employee": currently unable to predict the scale of bonuses

Recently, it has been reported that SK Hynix's average bonus for employees in South Korea will reach 6.1 million RMB. This news comes from a prediction by the international investment bank Macquarie Securities.

The investment bank believes that if SK Hynix's operating profit reaches 447 trillion won by 2027, based on 10% of the operating profit and a simple calculation of the total number of employees, which is about 35,000 at the end of last year, the total dividend scale will reach approximately 44.7 trillion won, with an average bonus of about 1.29 billion won per person, close to 6.1 million RMB.

In response, SK Hynix stated that since this year's and next year's annual performance has not yet been determined, the scale of the bonuses cannot be predicted. The company also mentioned that it has established a new system at the headquarters level, which uses 10% of the operating profit as the source of funds to distribute performance bonuses once a year. "As competition in AI semiconductors intensifies, talent has become a core competitive factor. Therefore, the company is committed to attracting outstanding talent through competitive compensation to maintain long-term competitive advantages."
