Polymarket applies for parlay betting on sports event contracts to be listed in the United States
The prediction market platform Polymarket submitted a self-certification document to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to apply for the listing of parlay trading of sports event contracts in the United States.
Polymarket describes parlay trading as a combination of two or more underlying sports event contracts, which can only settle at $1 if all the specified sub-event outcomes occur; otherwise, it will go to zero. By adopting a self-certification approach, Polymarket is notifying the CFTC of its listing plans rather than seeking permission. The document indicates that the listing date will be no earlier than May 21, 2026.
