Iran's central bank governor: Significant progress in the unfreezing of Iranian assets
According to the Iranian Tasnim News Agency, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Hemmati, stated that there has been "significant progress" on the issue of unfreezing Iranian assets during recent negotiations, and relevant documents have been signed during this round of talks.
Hemmati mentioned that the issue of frozen assets of the Central Bank of Iran is one of the most complex topics in the current negotiations. According to the relevant arrangements, in the coming days, the related funds will be gradually put into use based on established conditions and according to the procedures set by the Central Bank of Iran.
When discussing the issue of oil and petrochemical product exports, Hemmati stated that, according to the memorandum of understanding reached between Iran and the United States, the sanctions exemption mechanism related to Iran's energy exports should have been activated. It has now been agreed that the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control will be responsible for implementing the relevant arrangements.
