Payment company MoneyGram becomes a Solana validator, enhancing its blockchain payment strategy
According to The Block, payment company MoneyGram has become a validator on the Solana blockchain and joined the Solana Developer Platform, officially entering the Solana ecosystem. Solana is the third public blockchain where MoneyGram operates as an official validator, having previously operated validators on Tempo and Midnight Network.
MoneyGram CEO and Chairman Anthony Soohoo stated that serving as a validator allows MoneyGram to stake SOL, process transaction blocks, and contribute to the security and performance of the Solana network. Joining the Solana Developer Platform enables it to gain tool support for building and issuing financial products alongside institutions like Mastercard.
