French cryptocurrency platform Paymium has obtained the EU MiCA license issued by the AMF
According to Le Figaro, the French cryptocurrency platform Paymium announced that it has obtained the official EU MiCA license issued by the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF), allowing it to continue providing cryptocurrency trading services in the EU after the new regulations come into effect.
The company was founded in 2011 and claims to be the only platform operating a cryptocurrency exchange in France, with over 230,000 global customers, including individuals and institutions. The report points out that MiCA will come into full effect by the end of 2024, and platforms that do not obtain authorization from their national regulatory authorities by June 30 will be forced to cease operations.
As of now, only about 20 companies in France have been approved, while about 50 have yet to submit applications, and approximately 200 companies across Europe have been certified.
