One year after the implementation of the GENIUS Act, U.S. regulators are still formulating stablecoin rules
One year ago, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the "Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act," known as the GENIUS Act, marking the first time the U.S. initiated the construction of a federal regulatory framework for stablecoins. The GENIUS Act requires federal regulatory agencies to establish governance rules for stablecoins, covering issuer reserves, governance, and operational requirements.
Relevant details are still being developed by agencies such as the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
