Binance founder CZ responded to the question "Why not acquire smaller CEXs" by stating that acquiring centralized exchanges is different from other businesses. Once a hack occurs after the acquisition, it is difficult to determine whether it is a backdoor left by the previous team or a new issue, thus the security and compliance risks are higher. He emphasized that acquiring CEXs is still possible, but the due diligence and risk control processes are more complex.
