According to Cointelegraph, the on-chain security platform Blockaid released its security report for the first half of 2026 on Tuesday, stating that the amount stolen in the crypto industry exceeded $1 billion in the first half of the year. A total of 212 security incidents were recorded during this period, marking the highest number of hacking incidents in half a year. The number of verified high-risk vulnerabilities reached 3.4 times that of the entire year of 2025, with the largest single attack coming from KelpDAO, resulting in a loss of $292 million.

The report shows that Ethereum and Solana were the two networks with the heaviest losses, with stolen amounts of approximately $332 million and $326 million, respectively. Ethereum incidents were primarily due to code vulnerabilities, with attackers mainly targeting vulnerabilities in high-value applications, involving key leakage incidents such as Humanity Protocol and StablR. Solana's losses significantly increased by about $127 million compared to 2025, but the increase did not stem from smart contract vulnerabilities; over 98% of the losses were due to key leakage, mainly involving Drift Protocol and Step Finance, which Blockaid associates with North Korean hacker organizations.
