In the second quarter of 2026, Hong Kong's local GDP increased by 4.3% in real terms
According to Jinshi reports, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Census and Statistics Department today (31st) released the preliminary estimate of local GDP for the second quarter of 2026, showing that local GDP increased by 4.3% in real terms compared to the same period last year, while the increase in the first quarter was 5.9%.
A spokesperson for the Special Administrative Region Government stated that supported by vigorous external trade and robust internal demand, the Hong Kong economy continued to expand strongly in the second quarter of 2026, and it is expected to maintain steady growth in the second half of the year.
