Trump's second son: Bloomberg's report on SpaceX seriously underestimates the world's leading commercial space power
Eric Trump, the second son of Donald Trump, criticized Bloomberg's reporting on SpaceX, claiming it has issues of "overpromising and underdelivering" and accused the reporting of being of poor quality.
Eric Trump stated that SpaceX's payload mass launched to orbit in 2025 accounts for about 80% to 85% of the global total, while China's share during the same period is about 8% to 10%. He claimed that a private aerospace company has surpassed the launch capabilities of other countries worldwide, even leading the two major space powers.
He also pointed out that SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket completed approximately 165 successful launches in 2025, maintaining a zero-failure record, and that the reusable boosters have achieved over 30 flights.
Eric Trump believes that SpaceX has made significant breakthroughs in reducing launch costs, improving rocket reuse efficiency, and promoting the development of commercial spaceflight, and criticized some media reports for failing to accurately reflect the company's technological achievements.
These remarks stem from his dissatisfaction with Bloomberg's related reporting on SpaceX, but SpaceX's actual market share, global launch proportion, and future development prospects continue to attract ongoing attention from industry organizations and analysts.
