U.S. crude oil imports from Saudi Arabia fell to zero in July, marking the first complete month of interruption in over 40 years

Preliminary data from the U.S. government shows that in July this year, U.S. imports of crude oil from Saudi Arabia fell to zero, marking the first time since 1985 that there has been an entire month without imports of Saudi crude oil.

Data released by the U.S. Department of Energy indicates that shipments of Saudi crude oil to the U.S. completely ceased in July. It is expected that U.S. crude oil imports from Saudi Arabia will resume to about 300,000 barrels per day this month.
