OpenAI CFO: AI enhances financial efficiency but does not replace human judgment

According to a report by Fortune, OpenAI Chief Financial Officer Sarah Friar stated that AI can help finance teams identify issues more quickly, optimize forecasts, and enhance decision support capabilities, but it cannot replace human judgment, accountability, and financial rigor.

She pointed out that OpenAI is building an "AI-native" financial system, with goals including achieving "zero-day closing" and continuously updating forecasts, and suggested that companies restructure processes around decision-making to enhance efficiency while strengthening control and accountability mechanisms.
