UBS increases its holdings in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF, with a position exceeding 83 million dollars
According to regulatory documents, Switzerland's largest bank UBS has increased its holdings in BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), raising its total position to over $83 million, corresponding to approximately 2.5 million shares. The bank has gradually increased its Bitcoin exposure since the approval of BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF in 2024, with the total holdings in related cryptocurrency ETFs amounting to about $90 million.
BlackRock IBIT manages assets totaling approximately $47.3 billion. UBS also holds a position of about $1.5 million in the Bitcoin mining company American Bitcoin Corp., supported by Eric and Donald Trump Jr. Previously, there were reports that UBS plans to offer Bitcoin trading services to some private clients in Switzerland.
