Sources: The US-Canada trade agreement will introduce steel quotas and a 25% lower tariff
According to sources, the trade agreement being negotiated between Canada and the United States will introduce a quota system for Canadian steel exports, with a 25% tariff on exports within the quota and a 50% tariff on amounts exceeding the quota.
Canada has agreed to export 4 million tons of steel to the United States each year at a 25% tariff, with a 50% tariff on any excess, and to eliminate reciprocal tariffs on U.S. steel.
