Sources: JPMorgan recently assessed the launch of its own stablecoin

2026-08-26 23:01:45

According to the Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, JPMorgan Chase has recently evaluated the launch of its own stablecoin. As one of the largest banks in the world, JPMorgan Chase has previously explored institutional-level blockchain payments and tokenization applications through its blockchain platform Kinexys, and has launched digital asset solutions for institutional clients.

JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Santander are advancing the formation of a global stablecoin alliance to explore a stablecoin infrastructure supported by major financial institutions.

The alliance plans to collaborate around stablecoins issued or supported by banks, aiming to meet the needs of global payments, cross-border settlements, and digital asset transactions. Currently, the relevant plans are still in the exploratory stage, and the specific structure and technical route have not yet been finalized.
