Barret Zoph, co-founder of Thinking Machines Lab, joins Google

According to The Wall Street Journal, Barret Zoph, co-founder of Thinking Machines Lab, will join Google as Vice President of Research. Zoph suddenly left the startup to join OpenAI after a dispute with CEO Mira Murati earlier this year, and after a brief tenure at OpenAI, he changed employers again.

Previously, Zoph served as Chief Technology Officer at Thinking Machines Lab and led efforts to sell artificial intelligence products to enterprises during his time at OpenAI. Google has confirmed this appointment. Recently, Google has lost several high-profile researchers in succession.
