California "Meme Coin" bill passes both houses: prohibits public officials from issuing and launching for residents of the state
According to Bitcoin.com News, the "Meme Coin" regulatory bill in California has been passed by the state Assembly and Senate. The bill prohibits public officials and employees from issuing Meme Coins and bans the launch of such tokens aimed at California residents starting January 1, 2027. The AB 2409 bill has now been sent to the governor for signing.
