The U.S. Senate will hold a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act
Bitcoin News posted on platform X that the U.S. Senate plans to hold a key procedural vote on the CLARITY Act on September 15. This vote to end debate requires 60 votes in support; if it passes, the Senate will move forward with the formal consideration of the bill, but this does not mean the bill will ultimately pass.
The CLARITY Act aims to establish a comprehensive federal regulatory framework for the digital asset market. Meanwhile, Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Michael Selig stated that the agency can use its existing authority to advance limited cryptocurrency regulation, but this authority cannot replace the broader framework currently under consideration by Congress.
