Tom Lee: Four major catalysts may trigger ETH; if BTC rises to $150,000 and ETH/BTC returns to 0.04, then ETH could reach $6,000
Chairman of Bitmine, Tom Lee, recently stated in an interview with the "Milk Road Show" that asset tokenization and AI intelligent finance will become the core narratives of the cryptocurrency market in the next five years. Ethereum is expected to become the underlying settlement layer of the global financial system, and currently, ETH is still severely undervalued relative to BTC.
Tom Lee believes that in the remaining time of 2026, ETH may be driven by four major catalysts: the U.S. "Clarity Act" is expected to pass in September, the return of off-exchange short sellers and hesitant funds, the reallocation of crypto assets by Asian funds, and global institutional fund managers chasing top-performing crypto assets under quarterly performance pressure. He predicts that the ETH/BTC exchange rate is likely to return to the historical high of 0.08. Even if it conservatively recovers to 0.04, if BTC reaches $150,000, the corresponding price for ETH will also reach $6,000. Tom Lee also emphasized that Bitcoin still has long-term upward potential, but the larger narrative for the cryptocurrency industry in the next five years will be the "super cycle of comprehensive asset tokenization" and "AI intelligent finance."
