OpenSea resumes support for Solana NFT trading after four years
The NFT trading platform OpenSea has re-enabled Solana NFT trading, allowing users to buy and sell Solana-based NFT collectibles on the platform, including popular collections such as Claynosaurz, Mad Lads, BoDoggos, Collector Crypt, and Phygitals. This marks the return of Solana as the first non-EVM chain for NFT trading on the platform more than four years after OpenSea first supported Solana NFTs in a beta version in April 2022.
An OpenSea representative stated that OS2 is a multi-chain platform rebuilt from scratch, initially starting with support for Solana tokens, and now NFT support has also gone live, which is related to the trend of many collectible platforms adopting Solana NFTs. In April 2025, Solana returned to OpenSea with OS2, but at that time only fungible tokens were supported, with officials stating that NFT support would follow. Currently, the other networks supported by the platform are almost all EVM-compatible chains, including Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Base, Monad, Sei, and Berachain.
This launch comes at a time when the NFT market is far below its peak period. According to data from The Block, the monthly market trading volume reached billions of dollars from 2021 to 2022, but now only a few hundred million remain.
