The FBI seized over 560,000 USD in cryptocurrency and obtained information on thousands of potential donors to Hamas

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seized over $560,000 in cryptocurrency through court-authorized actions and took control of domains and servers allegedly used by Hamas for fundraising and recruiting supporters. The related actions involved three seizures on March 25, June 25, and October 10, 2025.

Investigators identified a crypto chat group that directed supporters to fundraising websites and tracked the rotating cryptocurrency addresses. The operation also obtained information on thousands of individuals who had contacted Hamas online, attempting to donate via cryptocurrency or traditional means. This operation expanded upon the $200,000 cryptocurrency seizure announced in March 2025. At least 17 related addresses had transferred over $1.5 million since October 2024, with funds having passed through exchanges, over-the-counter brokers, and accounts in Turkey.
