The U.S. Treasury will announce the maximum amount for long-term U.S. Treasury bond repurchases

The U.S. Treasury Department will announce the maximum amount of 10 to 20-year U.S. Treasury bonds planned for repurchase on Wednesday at 11 AM Eastern Time (23:00 Beijing Time). On September 10, the U.S. Treasury will also disclose the exact amount purchased under the repurchase plan that will start in May 2024.

Previously, the U.S. Treasury stated that before November 4, it would repurchase at least $4 billion in long-term U.S. Treasury bonds each time from the market, up from the previous operation of $2 billion. The Treasury still has the discretion to expand the repurchase scale.
