PayPal launched a custom token issuance platform PYUSDx
According to CoinDesk, PayPal announced the expansion of its stablecoin business to the custom token issuance platform PYUSDx. This platform is built on PayPal USD (PYUSD) and was developed with the assistance of fiat-backed token expert M0 and cryptocurrency payment company MoonPay, providing infrastructure for any business to issue custom stablecoins backed by PYUSD. PYUSDx was first previewed in February this year and is now officially launched.
The first batch of partners includes crypto-native companies Saturn, Concrete, and Cap, which together brought over $100 million in processed transaction volume to the platform. The PYUSDx token is issued by MoonPay Digital Assets Ltd., and the platform combines M0's universal stablecoin and digital token technology with MoonPay's issuance and distribution infrastructure. Additionally, USD.AI and Fairblock will also launch stablecoins on PYUSDx.
M0 CEO Luca Prosperi stated that as more financial institutions participate, the industry is facing fragmentation issues, and most financial institutions do not understand how to interact with developers. Therefore, M0 facilitates the integration of various new projects in the middle layer by abstracting complexity and risk.
