Besant: The U.S. Treasury market is in good condition, downplaying concerns about the scale of repurchases
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen downplayed market concerns about the scale of Treasury bond repurchase operations being lower than expected, stating that the U.S. bond market is in very good condition. The two-year U.S. Treasury yield reached its highest level since 2024, while the ten-year yield rose to a 2023 high. The Treasury plans to repurchase up to $6 billion in bonds, but the actual repurchase was only $5.19 billion.
